Awards & Grants
ESCMID offers abstract submitters for ECCMID 2019 the following grants and awards:
ESCMID Travel Grants
ESCMID offers 100 young scientists who submit an abstract an ECCMID Travel Grant covering full registration to the congress and a travel allowance of EUR 500. The application for ECCMID 2019 travel grants will open on the 5th of September 2018 and end on the 30th of November 2018. More information can be found on the ESCMID website.
ECCMID 2019 Programme Book Grants initiative - Paying it forward
For ECCMID 2019 we have introduced a new initiative, the ECCMID Programme Book Grant.
The printed version of the ECCMID 2019 Programme Book will only be available for ECCMID attendees willing to pay a € 20 donation. As usual, the ECCMID programme will be freely available at ECCMID webpage in PDF format, as well as within the ECCMID app.
The revenues of this initiative will be used to directly support attendees who would otherwise not be able to attend the congress. These grants are awarded on a balance of criteria including age, ESCMID membership status, and country of origin. The grants will be used to cover the costs of travel, registration and accommodation for the recipients. We expect to reduce the total tonnage of paper and colour printing, at the same time offering more grants for those colleagues in need.
If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to email the Congress Secretariat at eccmidinfo[at]escmid.org.
The application for the ECCMID Programme Book Grant is now closed
Industry-sponsored travel grants for participants from low-income countries
We are pleased to announce a new travel grant opportunity for ECCMID 2019 attendants! Thanks to an unrestricted educational grant from Bayer we will be able to support a number of abstract submitters from low-income or developing countries. The grant includes travel to and from ECCMID 2019, accommodation during the congress, and full registration for ECCMID 2019. The grant is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash. These grants have been able to help us support 5 ECCMID participants with travel, accommodation and registration costs. 4 of these recipients are from Nepal, and one is from Ethiopia. ESCMID thanks Bayer for enabling the attendance these participants that would not otherwise be able attend the congress.
